Sardonyx Signet Rings
Sardonyx is a type of stratified agate where one band of colour lies above another strata of chalcedonic stone which can vary in colour. The appeal of these unique rings comes from the engraving effect. You can cut through the surface layer to reveal a different colour underneath.
We offer Red Sardonyx and a Blue/black Sardonyx. Examples as below.
Example of a red sardonyx, seal engraved with a family crest. The engraver cuts through the surface layer of lilac coloured stone to reveal the red coloured onyx underneath, which creates a dramatic effect.
